Oh the benefits to a Lady cycle-commuter overfloweth!
According to a recent report, us Lady (and Lady-lover) cyclists save over $4.6 billion a year on transportation commuting costs every year, and this doesn’t even include to documented annual healthcare savings!
Other than creating joy and love, cost savings mean more disposable income. And that, my Ladies, means more money that can be used on non-essential purchases and therfore more stimulus in our local economies. Ladies (and Lady-lovers), we are now additionally endowed with the title of “economic saviors”! Nice work!
And the benefits can extend to our disappointing-but-we-love-them steel-box commuting friends just by tweaking their habits. From the Sierra Club:
Forty percent of all trips are made within two miles of home. Analysis by the Sierra Club shows that if American drivers were to make just one four-mile round trip each week with a bicycle instead of a car, they would save nearly 2 billion gallons of gas. At $4 per gallon, total savings would be $7.3 billion a year.
Cleaner air? A healthier Lady-body and economy? Yes, please!
Keep riding and saving, Ladies!
